New York City is one the best places to travel for vegan food. We had a wonderful experience while being able to visit Michelin-star vegan dining spots. We spent our time exploring Manhattan and Brooklyn to find the best began food in the city. The highlight of our trip was Eleven Madison Park.

Every dish features locally sourced ingredients and comes with a story. The flavors are rich and beautifully presented. Come with an open palate and you’ll leave yearning for more. Here are some of the dishes that we had the opportunity to enjoy.

The next best vegan restaurant in NYC is Dirt Candy. Dirty Candy has 1 Michelin star and it delivered the most creative meals we’ve ever had. Think avocado transformed into a sponge cake without the taste of a vegetable. Every dish they served pushed boundaries. Here are some of the dishes they provided.

After our foray into the Michelin space, we returned to reality. The NYC vegan scene is bustling whether or not you’re enjoying fine dining or quick eats. Here are some of the places we frequented.
Spicy Moon has a fully vegan menu. The dumplings and cumin fries were great.

Indienne was also an incredible dining experience. Their Chicago counterpart has 1 Michelin star. Please note that we did order the non-alcoholic pairing, but we don’t feel that it was worth the added cost. Not only do the drinks fill you up, but they also weren’t great. The food was top notch, and we highly recommend this location.

Coletta features comforting Italian based dishes. The pizza crust was to die for.

Dun-Well Doughnuts serves the best vegan donuts in NYC. The location is in Brooklyn, but it is worth the train ride. Go early for the freshest selection.

Avant Garden has a cozy ambiance with solid dishes. Not as great as Soda Club which I believe is owned by the same owner/group.

Orchard Grocer is a must-visit vegan deli and grocery store with standout bagels.

Delice & Sarrasin – Beautiful venue, but disappointing execution. Unless you’re looking for day old stale treats, I would avoid this place.

Chloe’s – High Protein Vegan Salad

Bub’s Bakery serves an incredible standout cinnamon roll. Tastes different than a traditional roll, but it’s great.

Soda Club specializes in fresh, handmade pasta with innovative sauces that you likely would not recreate at home. Very unique and we would visit again.

Tompkins Square Bagels offers clearly labeled vegan options and tofu-based spreads. Great bagel stop!
