Seattle has plenty of vegan restaurants along with many establishments that offer vegan options. There are some great choices in Seattle, but there are also a lot of subpar dining locations.
We started at Pi Vegan Pizzeria. They advertise themselves as the oldest vegan pizzeria. However, the pizza wasn’t mind blowing. Good, but not great!

We also visited Ba Bar Green. It has its own window where you can purchase plant-based grab and go food. There are some tables outside to eat. The food wasn’t great, but it’s quick. Things are also expensive, but it is Seattle. You can’t expect cheap vegan food.

The next place should be avoided at all costs. Think reheated frozen food at an astronomical price. We’re talking about partially cold unsalted edamame. You order with a tablet attached to the table and the service is very impersonal.

After a terrible dinner, we woke up the next morning with an agenda on hand. We traveled to Bainbridge Island via ferry to sample their vegan delicacies. There weren’t many options in Bainbridge, and we probably wouldn’t revisit. Breakfast started at Plantiful, located near the ferry in Seattle. The Açai bowls were excellent.

Once we crossed Elliot Bay and docked at the Bainbridge Island Ferry Passenger Terminal, we headed to the farmer’s market. Pegasus Coffee House has a brick-and-mortar location on the island. This was extremely crowded when we visited. They also had a booth at the farmers market with no line. Food at the market was slightly above average.

After the farmers market, we took the ferry back to the Seattle Ferry Terminal. We had lunch at Rojo’s Mexican Food. We though the food was great.

We followed that meal with a dessert at Dough Joy which had some of the best doughnuts we’ve had in our lives.

Dinner was had at Harvest Beat. This was the best food that we had while we were in Seattle. We experienced the fixed 5 course dinner and it did not disappoint.

After a delicious 5 course dinner at Harvest beat, we woke up the next morning eager to go on a hike through the Washington Park Arboretum. Before the hike, we had breakfast at Cafe Flora. We ate there twice during our stay and it has some excellent vegan beakfast options.

The second time that we visited Cafe Flora was for brunch.

After the first time we ate at Cafe Flora, we had a very important date for Centennial Afternoon Vegan Tea at the Fairmont Hotel in Seattle. The service was impecable. This is our 2nd vegan tea experience and it was better than the first. The ambiance was incredible and everything tasted great

As with all tea times, they bring out some scones, savories and pastries. The vegan scones came with vegan butter, marionberry jam & marmalade.
Tea Savories
- Pressed Cucumber & Lemon Cashew Cream
- Wild Mushroom & Thyme
- Compressed Pear & Walnut Mousse
- Artichoke & Lemon
- Roasted Beetroot & Horseradish
Pastries
- Tiramisu
- Lemon Mango Bar
- Chantilly Berry Cake
- Banana Cupcake
- Brownie

After a quick excursion at the Boeing Future of Flight tour, we made our way to araya’s place to pick up some food to bring back to our Airbnb.

The following day was dedicated to Pike Place Market. We shared one vegan dish from every restaurant in the market that had vegan options available.

1st meal of the day was at The Crumpet Shop (slightly above average)

2nd meal of the day was at The Crumpet Shop (above average)

3rd meal of the day was at Honest Biscuits (above average)

4th meal of the day was at Cinnamon Works (above average)

5th meal of the day was at Cobb’s Popcorn (average)

6th meal of the day was at Rachel’s Ginger Beer (above average)

7th meal of the day was at Pike Place Chowder (below average)

After our rendezvous at Pike Place Market, we travelled to Frankie & Jo’s to have a California Cabin ice cream. It was truly spectacular. There are a lot of unique flavors here.

Dinner was at Kati Vegan Thai. This experience was just above average.

Here’s a fresh blackberry straight off the vine from one of our hikes.

Our final day in Seattle was lackluster. We had our brunch at Cafe Flora. Dinner was at The Sushi Samurai. They had a robot that served the food, but the flavor was lacking. It appeared that things were prepackaged. We would not return.

The next morning, we headed to Portland. Before making the trek, we stopped at our last location, The Park Side Cafe. The establishment looked nice, but the food wasn’t great. It was extremely heavy and not too flavorful. I would order with caution here.

Seattle isn’t our favorite vegan destination. There is plenty of vegan food. However, it is pricey and I would consider it a hit or miss city. A few great locations and quite a few terrible locations.
